Quincy in Sinclair Heights
20" x 9" | Mixed Media on wood Panel

Quincy in Sinclair Heights is a tribute to the formative years of Quincy Jones and the community that helped shape one of the most influential musical minds of the twentieth century. Inspired by Jones' childhood in Bremerton, Washington, this mixed-media work honors his time in Sinclair Heights, a wartime housing community where he first discovered the power of music and creativity.

Layered with rich textures, historic references, and vibrant color, the piece reflects the energy, resilience, and cultural significance of a neighborhood that played an important role in both local and American history. Through a fusion of contemporary mixed-media techniques and storytelling, the artwork explores how place, community, and opportunity can ignite a lifelong passion.

At 20" x 9", this intimate work invites viewers to look closely and uncover its many details—much like the stories woven throughout Bremerton's past. More than a portrait, Quincy in Sinclair Heights serves as a celebration of legacy, creativity, and the enduring impact one community can have on the world.

A meaningful addition for collectors who appreciate music history, Pacific Northwest heritage, and artwork that carries both cultural depth and visual energy.

For a higher-end collector audience, I would make it even more personal and evocative by connecting it to your role in helping tell Quincy Jones' Bremerton story through the Quincy Square projects. That creates provenance and a deeper narrative that serious collectors often value.

This artwork is further informed by my work as an artist and storyteller for the City of Bremerton's interpretive signage initiative, a project dedicated to preserving and sharing the rich history of the region. Through the creation of public art and educational displays, I had the privilege of helping highlight the stories of local trailblazers, community leaders, and the enduring heritage of the Suquamish people, whose connection to these lands spans countless generations. That experience deepened my understanding of the cultural layers that shape Bremerton's identity and inspired a greater appreciation for the individuals and communities whose contributions continue to influence the Pacific Northwest. Quincy in Sinclair Heights draws upon that same spirit of honoring place, history, and the remarkable people whose stories deserve to be remembered and celebrated.
