C.Bennett + Nicholas Blackham // A Collaborative Effort

When collaboration collides, anything is possible. In anything it is important to leave your comfort zone, absorb criticism positively and take risk. Collaboration: It’s not always about the final production but rather that feeling you feel in the moment of creating.

I meet Blackham back when I was a little shortie at Green Valley High School in Las Vegas. At the time, neither of us had a clue we had any artistic talent. It wasn’t until 10 years later when we randomly crossed paths in Southern California that we would get together to collaborate in my Long Beach backyard. Our first session together we painted ten 4ft x4ft wooden canvases in the span of one week.

By stepping out of our comfort zones and motivating each other, we evolved. Our collective techniques grew and our personal styles flourished into something deeper and richer than before.
