Description

Booker T Washington (April 5, 1856 – November 14, 1915) Booker T Washington was an American educator, author, orator, and adviser to several presidents of the United States. Born into slavery, Washington became the voice of the Black Movement. As a student I learned very little about African American history; it wasn’t until I was an adult, and had the curiosity to do my own research. It is through my art that I find the passion to educate myself and my children. Washington taught me that knowledge is power and that education is the most important tool we have.
