Nina Simone's story is a testament to her perseverance and dedication to her craft. Despite facing obstacles, such as being denied admission to the Curtis Institute of Music due to racism, she continued to pursue her passion for music. Simone began her career playing piano at a nightclub in Atlantic City under the name "Nina Simone" to conceal her identity from disapproving family members. Her talent as a jazz vocalist quickly became evident, and she went on to record over 40 albums between 1958 and 1974. Simone's unique style of piano playing, heavily influenced by baroque and classical music, coupled with her soulful, expressive singing voice, cemented her legacy as one of the most iconic artists of her time.
